 Vulcano Island is one of the Aeolian Islands located north of Sicily. This beautiful archipelago features wonderful beaches including 'Black Sands Beach' in Porto Ponente.
Vulcano Island is famous for its thermal springs, mixtures of mud and sea water. It is possible to bathe into those thermal springs all year round at anytime of the day or the night.
Vulcano Island features a grotto called Grotta del Cavallo which heart can be reached by boat. After sailing into the grotto, one can walk along the slope of the volcano. This volcano as not changed a lot since ancient times. Dense clouds from the crater's fumaroles can still be spotted. To the north of Porto di Levante, the sea water is warmed by Acque Calde (small fumaroles).
Vulcano Island is a wonderful place that will ravish anybody with its superb black sandy beaches and delightful thermal springs.
